VAQ-131 Lancers |
So now the Lancers of VAQ-131 have an online presence that is not officially sanctioned or affiliated with the Navy. This little project (tapped out in airports and hotels across the country) is a small tool to keep squadron members in touch and provide some outlet for the nostalgia that sometimes takes hold decades after we’ve all parted company. I have no idea how this website will evolve, so dear readers should expect it to be open-ended, chaotic and uncertain—come to think of it, kinda like a cruise on the USS Independence to the Indian Ocean. Because personnel continually transferred in and out of the squadron, the focus of this website is the group of Lancers I knew during my time as their techrep (September 1979 to December 1982). Some left shortly after I arrived and I never got to know them, while others arrived just as I departed. Nevertheless, all Lancers, past and present, are welcome here. UPDATE: The VAQ-131 Lancer blog is now online at http://lancers.wordpress.com. Feel free to leave a comment. UPDATE: The Hog Log is now online. Thanks, Raj, for scanning this historical document into digital form!
