“As boring as an eastbound TransLant, as inevitable as INSURV” |
Where are they now? |
Every so often, I would wonder what had happened to all the Lancers I’d met at Whidbey Island and aboard the Indy. Aside from confirming the somewhat deplorable suggestion that I really don’t have much of a life these days, this presented an opportunity to satisfy that nagging curiosity of “whatever happened to…” wandering though my mind at odd moments. With Google and the Internet shrinking the world in time and space, I thought I’d see who I could find. Interestingly, it was Skipper Creager’s name stenciled on the side of an RA-5C Vigilante on the flight deck of the USS Midway museum that served as the catalyst for this project. Chris Porter had tracked me down several years ago and we’d been in touch, but my Lancer history was largely a fading (yet still glorious) memory. When I saw the Skipper’s name on that plane I thought I’d make an effort to track down the Lancers I had known. Here, then, in no particular order, are the results so far: |
